A Done For You Discovery Exercise
Today I'm going to share a resource you can use to reveal your Unique Abilities.
It's from the book, Unique Ability by Catherine Nomura & Julia Waller.
Email 10 people whose opinions and insights you respect.
This can be family, friends, or colleagues who know you well.
Here's a sample correspondence...
There's a favor I'd like to ask you. I have a homework assignment called a Unique Ability exercise. Everyone has a set of talents, interests, and capabilities. They're usually passionate about these and they can create immense value in the world.
I'm trying to discover what mine are. I value your opinion and was wondering if you could think about this question and give me your feedback.
What do you notice as my set of Unique Abilities?
This includes my strengths, characteristics, and activities...what I'm good at, how I do things, what you count on me for, and other features you see about who I am.
It would really help me out if you could get back to me in the next two weeks with any thoughts you have about this.
It's best to paraphrase the email to reflect your voice, so it sounds like you.
Convey a time frame as tasks have a way of disappearing from people's to-do lists.
Take the time and courage to follow through on this activity.
Doing it will leave you amazed and grateful.
