Honoring Our Lord
You won't grow in your relationship with God without praising Him.
In Psalm 50:23, God says, "Whoever offers praise glorifies me".
Proud people don't exalt God because they're too consumed with themselves.
With humility, you're to be in awe of Him, and devotion will flow from your heart.
Praise is a way for you to acknowledge God's eminence.
He provides hymns to guide us in our admiration.
They're choruses that were sung by God's people in Israel.
Psalm 86:9-12 says,
"All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord;
They will bring glory to your name. For you are great and do marvelous
deeds; You alone are God. Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on
your faithfulness; Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name
forever."
Praising God gives Him glory!
Adoration to Jesus in the morning sets the tone for your day.
At night, reverence is a way to thank Him for all the blessings you enjoy.
Our Lord isn't concerned about the manner of your praise,
As He is with the content of it.
The Bible proclaims three elements of glorifying God:
God's attributes, His works, and Our thanks
Next time, I'll review each element of worship.
