What's Your Story?
When I'm initially working with a coaching client, I'll get a story rather than a direct answer to one of my questions.
A couple of minutes into their dialogue, I asked them if they remembered what I inquired about.
And usually, they'll say, "No".
It's a moment that provides great clarity for them.
They realize there's a habit of evasiveness going on.
By talking around an issue to avoid fear and accepting accountability for whatever is happening.
The most reliable path to well-being in your life is the direct one.
Instead of wiggling and weaving your way to elude responsibility, focus on precisely how you'll achieve results.
Rather than rationalizing your circumstances with stories.
You'll never win by giving your power away when you're playing the blame game and creating excuses.
Our stories are so sneaky and subtle!
Lean into your integrity by becoming brutally honest and assessing how you can handle any situation.
By ditching the fiction that drifts you away from reality.
