Who Is Watching Over You?

My mom once told me I saved her life.
She knew in her heart my father was having an affair.
When she confronted him, he swore on their daughter’s life that it wasn’t true.
But it was.
Two weeks later, my sister died in a fall down the cellar stairs.
Terry was only five years old.
My mother, broken with grief, collapsed at the gravesite on a snowy, gray January day.
It was as if the world was mourning her.
She felt like she was sinking into oblivion, and life seemed to lose meaning.
But one thing kept her going.
My innocent expression of love as a baby from a crib she clung to daily.
It became her anchor of purpose and eminence.
A tiny light shining through the darkness.
Terry and I are in a photo taken just before the accident.
During my mom's unimaginable loss and heartache, that picture — and my life — became a beacon of hope for her.
Love endures when everything seems lost.
It carries us through, even when we can’t continue.
My sister’s eyes, filled with an indomitable spirit, watch over me now from her portrait in my library.
Just as my mom did for me when she was alive, she continues to do so today.
Who is watching over you?
As you navigate through life, do you sense those who’ve left?
Because they're never truly gone.
They live on in the love they give, the cherished memories, and the strength they continue to offer.
They are the unseen spirit that holds us steady.
The silent whispers that direct us through the storm.
As you reflect on who’s looking after you, remember that a radiance of love transcends time.
A love that endures forever.
Let it give you courage and guide your way.
When you feel lost or need comfort, know they are nearby.
To be with you on the path to your destiny.
